DURING MY STUDIES ON VIEWPOINTS I CAME ACROSS THE IDEA OF FORCED PERSPECTIVE.
THIS IS AN OPTICAL ILLUSION TECHNIQUE USED BY PHOTOGRAPHERS TO MAKE OBJECTS APPEAR CLOSER OR FURTHER AWAY AND LARGER OR SMALLER THAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
I HAVE TRIED THIS TECHNIQUE BEFORE ON THE BEACH WHERE I HAD MY SUBJECT CAPTURE THE SUN. I HAD RECENTLY COME ACROSS THE IDEA OF USING TOYS AND MODELS IN FORCED PERSPECTIVE PICTURES SO DECIDED TO COMBINE THE TWO IN A SUNRISE SHOOT WITH PLASTIC MODELS OF CHARACTERS FROM THE MARVEL COMICS.

this work inspired this sunrise shoot.
For a first attempt i was please with the images i created using the models and the sunrise. i feel i created the illusion of real size figures capturing balls of light and also used the sun to give the illusion of flames. setting up the shot was quite tricky but i found it easier to place my model and move the camera around to get the best shot.
i used a variety of lenses 18-55mm, 50mm and 75-300mm and found in this shoot that the long telephoto lens gave me the best results.
after i selected my favourite shots i used the zeke filter in windows photo on a couple of the pictures to produce a monet-like effect on the sun. i also created a shot with two suns by placing my figures over the front of the lens, a technique that i will probably use again in the future.
